Dr. Jodie Lobana

Dr. Jodie Lobana serves as the Executive Director of TeraTera Collaborations Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to using AI for social good. An internationally recognized expert in AI governance, ethics, and risk management, Dr. Lobana brings over two decades of leadership, governance, and technology oversight experience to drive meaningful social impact through innovation and responsible AI practices.

Under her leadership, TeraTera focuses on pioneering initiatives across eldercare, climate resilience, healthcare optimization, digital inclusion, AI literacy, and community innovation. Her vision is grounded in the belief that AI can and should enhance human well-being and societal progress.

Dr. Lobana has shared her insights globally, delivering keynotes and training sessions to professionals from over 40 countries including prominent institutions such as:

  • Audit Groups of UN agencies and international Development Banks
  • The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW)
  • Canada’s Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions
  • Professional associations including CPA Ontario, CPA Alberta, and the IIA Global
  • Canadian school board associations and Crown corporations

She has held significant governance roles, including serving on the International Internal Audit Standards Board, chairing the Technology Steering Committee at OECM, and contributing to advisory committees for CPA Canada and McMaster AI Society.

Dr. Lobana currently teaches AI and IT Governance at York University and has lectured at Queen’s University, McMaster University, the University of Waterloo, and the Indian Institute of Technology. Her teaching emphasizes practical insights, real-world application, and actionable knowledge.

She is also the author of the forthcoming book, Holistic Governance of Artificial Intelligence, introducing transformative frameworks for governing AI ethically and responsibly in both public and private sectors.

As Executive Director, Dr. Lobana continues to lead TeraTera Collaborations Inc. toward innovative partnerships and impactful projects, harnessing AI to address critical global challenges and create lasting positive change.
